Collected words from talks of Swami Tirtha

I think life is not a competition. And we should run a marathon, not 100 meters. You cannot have the same speed on marathon like in 100 meters. If we really want to devote our whole life to the divine service, then… I would not say that then we can be relaxed, but we should choose the appropriate pace.

Then comes a very practical advice: associate with the devotees. Because if we associate with such people, who are more active then ourselves, we also become more active. But we should not miss rajasic bhakti with satvic bhakti. When somebody is very active, but the direction is not perfect, or somebody is more reserved, but fully understands everything… So when the rockets are burning, but the target is not set, this is quite dangerous. First we should set the target and then start the rockets.
